STAGE sPONSERED BY

JULY 2025

My role on this project was head scenic painter and an assistant of the decoration team for the Gauloises stage at both Spektrum and MSDockville festival in Hamburg. I had a role in designing facades for buildings and their concepts, as well as physically helping to create faux finishes. With the Wanderzirkus collective I was also focusing heavily on experimenting with new interesting paint layers to accompany different lightings used throughout performances using RGB and UV. This stage concept presented a typical street scene somewhere between Berlin and Paris.

“A blue kiosk on the corner, a café with a red awning, an advertising column, the entrance to the metro – everything seems familiar, almost too orderly. During the day, the place appears like a stylized carbon copy of bourgeois society. At midnight, the transformation begins. The contours of the buildings begin to magically glow, the graffiti on the reflects brightly in the black light, posters become optical illusions. The city reveals its dark side.

What is shown is a cross-section, a reflection of urban society. Liberté Toujours lives here as the idea of freedom in public space and at night – pas de règles, pas d’excuses.
