What is ARNOTART?

I believe the progress of art is impossible without constant CHANGE!

To launch in the new year, I have designed a new brand to promote my work and practice. This will further the understanding of research that has influenced the brand name, but also past concepts and working methods. With ideas planned already and many developing, I hope this will increase the recognition of my work to a wider audience, create discussions, give opportunities for collaboration and bring exciting experiences.

NOTART originates within the question of how art is experienced and how practitioners use the display and appearance of artwork to impact an audience’s perception and interpretation.

This question can open many interesting or boring pathways, depending on who you are, that ask what art actually is, or what it could be. As well as touching on theories within semiotics, aesthetics, realism, reality, reproduction…. and so many other factors

In more simple terms…

The name suggests looking beyond, seeing art as an experience that is influenced and built by many external and internal situational factors regarding it’s participants. Art is an exchange between artist, observer, work.
