JUNE 2024 + 2025

Far away from everyday life, a very special kind of parallel society is created for five days. In a collective state of exception, a carnival of the senses unfolds in a place without time, reflecting the longing for a better world. But because there is nowhere where people are free, it is precisely the union of fusionists from all countries and vacation communism that makes us feel that we want more than what we are offered in this life.

For two years I have lead the scenic paint team at Fusion Festival’s main stage Palapa, working with many inspiring artists of Wanderzirkus collective and collaborating to design and create this complex stage. At Palapa we work with diverse paint techniques, layers and textures that contributed to its intricate immersive storyline. Some structures were reimagined from previous years and some were created from scratch for 2024 and 2025. In this incredible role, I was able to design facade finishes/textures for many of the structures in Palapa.
