“After Earth” is an installation created to remind humans of the pure power of nature. From building ecosystems in unthinkable locations, to restoring itself from manmade destruction - these artworks highlight our utter dependence on nature, it’s systems, cycles and presence. The name “After Earth” suggesting that it will be here long after us and the choice of location indicating it’s presence amongst all spaces across our world.
Guilin Boccaletti writes “nature acts on the planet on a scale that dwarfs most human processes”. Nature is not as fragile as we think, and it’s agency is not comparable to our own. It has been here long before us and has the ability to be here long after.
